► Webinar on the Path to IEEE Senior Member Elevation Held

The IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee organized a professional webinar entitled “The Path to IEEE Senior Member Elevation.”                                                

The webinar was presented by Dr. AmirAbolfazl Souratgar, IEEE Senior Member and Associate Professor in the Control Engineering Department at Amirkabir University of Technology. During the session, participants were introduced to the requirements, qualifications, and application process for IEEE Senior Member elevation.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

The presentation also covered the benefits of Senior Member status, evaluation criteria, application preparation guidelines, and practical recommendations for a successful elevation process.                                                                                                                                                                                                        

The webinar was held online on January 1, 2025, and attracted IEEE members, researchers, and students interested in professional development and advancement within IEEE.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Through events such as this, the Promotion Committee aims to increase awareness of membership elevation opportunities and support the professional growth of IEEE Iran Section members.

► Promotion Committee Begins a New Term of Activities

The IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee has officially commenced its activities for the new term. Dr. Hassan Beyurani, IEEE Fellow, has been appointed as the Chair of the Promotion Committee.

During the committee’s first official meeting, the new members and their responsibilities were introduced. Dr. AmirAbolfazl Souratgar was appointed as Vice Chair, Dr. Zahra Atlasbaf and Dr. Ali-Morad Mahmoudi as University Relations Coordinators, Eng. Hossein Riazi and Eng. Abolfazl Ghiathi-Moghaddam as Industry Relations Coordinators, and Dr. Sharara Rehimi as Committee Coordinator.

The committee will continue its mission of supporting IEEE members in achieving higher membership grades, fostering professional growth, and strengthening member engagement within the IEEE community.

► First Meeting of the IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee Held

The first meeting of the IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee was held online with the participation of the newly appointed committee members.                 

During the meeting, committee responsibilities were finalized and assigned. Members discussed future plans, strategies for supporting IEEE membership elevation, and approaches to achieving the committee’s objectives.                                                                                                                                                                              

The committee also emphasized the importance of outreach activities, raising awareness of membership elevation opportunities, and strengthening engagement with both academia and industry.

► Second Meeting of the IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee Held

The second meeting of the IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee was held with the participation of committee members.                                                      

During the meeting, the proposed agenda items and planned activities for the current term were reviewed. Following discussions on the committee’s priorities and strategic objectives, the annual action plan of the committee was approved.                                                                                                                                 

The approved plan includes a range of outreach, awareness, and support activities aimed at promoting membership elevation opportunities and facilitating the advancement process for IEEE members.

► Third Meeting of the IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee Held

The third meeting of the IEEE Iran Section Promotion Committee was held with the participation of committee members.                                                         

During the meeting, plans for organizing specialized seminars and promotional events focused on IEEE membership elevation were discussed. Committee members also reviewed strategies for identifying qualified candidates for higher membership grades and supporting them throughout the elevation process.                    

These initiatives are intended to increase awareness of membership advancement opportunities and further promote professional growth within the IEEE Iran Section.
